A New Direction

Most Recent Post

Hi, my name is Anna and I’m a Marketing and Production Intern at WFDD, an National Public Radio affiliate in Winston-Salem. I was looking at internships for my senior thesis and nothing really stood out to me, until my dad forwarded me the application for WFDD. Prior to this internship, I worked with Guilford radio, WQFS 90.9, for three years as on-air talent and concurrently as the programming director, but I never had experience with high end professional radio.

Coordinator, Mentor, and Leader

My name is H’Lois MLo and I am a 2018 B.S, Accounting graduate of Guilford College with minors in Music and Money and Finance. I am honored to say that I worked with refugees and immigrants coming from all parts of the world within our diverse city of Greensboro, all with the help of the Bonner Scholar Program for Community Service & Learning.

Working with World Pediatric Project

My name is Andrew Orchowsky, and I am a double major, Spanish and Psychology. In addition to my studies: being the co-president of Guilford PRIDE, having a radio show with WQFS, and working at the library keeps me nice and busy! This past summer, I had the honor and privilege of working with an organization in Richmond, Virginia called World Pediatric Project (WPP) as a U.S. Referrals intern.

An Internship That Delivers

Pennsylvania native Hannah Kaplan ’20 is learning a lot this summer about what it takes to run a place of midwifery and women’s health. “My mom is an OBGYN nurse practitioner,” Hannah says, “so I have always been interested in women’s health and midwifery.”

Radio Journalism Done Write

My name is Beatriz Caldas, and I’m a senior English major, French and Communications minor, and the Editor-in-Chief of the Guilford College student newspaper, The Guilfordian. I had the opportunity last spring to intern with 88.5 WFDD in Winston-Salem, N.C.

A Summer on Capitol Hill

Hello, I'm Colin Ganges '20. This summer I have had the distinct opportunity to be a legislative intern for Congressman Al Green on Capitol Hill. I was fortunate enough to be a Center for Principled Problem-Solving scholar and be provided a stipend to offset some of the expenses in D.C.

A Roaring Summer

My name is Amber Dubois and I had the amazing opportunity to work in the athletic media relations office at Towson University this summer. I am a senior from York, Pennsylvania, and I will be graduating in May with a degree in Sport Management and a minor in Spanish.

Iron-Clad Experiences

My name is Shannon Petsch and my summer was a hole-in-one of a kind! I am from Hellertown, Pennsylvania, and I am about to start my senior year here at Guilford College. (I can’t believe it, either!) I am a Business Administration major with a focus in Sports Marketing and Human Resource Management.

Internship Match Made in Heaven

My summer internship as a Match Grant Intern at Church World Service in downtown Greensboro was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life!

From Brunnenburg to the ’Boro

Zachary Gruenberg spent the spring 2018 semester abroad with one of Guilford’s most popular study abroad programs — Brunnenburg. Regularly listed among the top coolest travel programs in the country, Brunnenburg students live in a 13th-century castle in the Italian Alps.

A Magical Experience

My name is Shannon Petsch '19, Business Administration major! Last spring, I was granted the opportunity of a lifetime: an internship with Walt Disney World through the Disney College Program.

Game Day Replay

My name is Julian Humes '18 and I will be graduating this May with a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Biology. This fall I had the honor of working with one of the prestigious athletic conferences in the United States, the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

French Fusion

Bonjour! My name is Danika Gottbrecht and I am a senior at Guilford College. I major in French and International Studies and minor in German. Last spring, I decided to study abroad in Strasbourg, which sits 6 km from the German border in eastern France.
