Supporting Student Success

The Accessibility Resource Center (ARC)

ARC provides services and support for students with disabilities that impair major life functioning or limit a student’s ability to live and learn. Some of the common conditions that Guilford students self-identify with and receive services for include visual and hearing Impairments, chronic illness, physical disability, learning disability, and mental, psychological, or emotional conditions. A wide array of accommodations are available. These include assistive technology, counseling and tutoring, exam time extensions, housing arrangements, and more. The Learning and Writing Center (LWC)

LWC welcomes all learners, teaching them to be more effective and engaged scholars. Learning strategies and writing assistance is available for students, faculty, and staff. Drop-in tutoring for specific subjects and weekly meetings with course-specific tutors are also available. Appointments can be made through the LWC website or by emailing a tutor directly. Students can also find resources for time-management, coping with COVID-19, and study skills on the LWC’s website. 

Hege Library and Academic Commons

Hege Library is a cornerstone for teaching, learning, research, and scholarship at Guilford College. It fosters a culture of scholarly exploration and experimentation, and promotes creativity and innovation. It also provides information and technology resources to advance Guilford’s unique liberal arts experience. Hege Library offers research guides and tutorials; digital project toolkits; laptop and ipad rentals; and more. It’s also home to Guided Discovery and the Office of Global and Off-Campus Initiatives (Study Abroad).
