Testing Update — Monday, Sept. 21

[Return to Guilford's COVID-19 Hub]

Here is an important update on testing results from Sept. 14 and Sept. 15, as well as information on more testing this week.

We tested 444 community members during two COVID-19 clinics, Sept.14 and 15. We have had three positive cases. In addition to the on-campus testing, we also received notification of one additional positive case from a close contact of an existing positive case.

We are still awaiting 20 outstanding test results. We have completed our contact tracing with identified positive cases. All positive-testing community members, as well as their identified close contacts, are currently isolating and quarantining. They are all doing well and we will continue to monitor their health

Testing This Week

On Friday, Sept. 25, we will transition to our random COVID-19 testing during the 12-week session, which will continue regularly throughout the semester. Those who are selected for the random testing will be notified tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 22.

We urge you to remember and practice your three Ws: Wear, Wait, Wash

  1. Wear a cloth mask over your nose and mouth.
  2. Wait 6 feet apart. Avoid close contact.
  3. Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer.

Please continue to operate with the assumption that you have the virus and everyone around you has the virus. Please remember that if you have any questions related to COVID-19 and our efforts to mitigate the pandemic on campus please call the COVID-19 Hotline at 336.316.2319. We are all in this together.

Sincerely,
Jermaine Thomas
Director of Public Safety
