Continuing Education — How to Apply

If you are 23 or older, you can be a full-time Continuing Education student at Guilford by attending just two days a week. Please note the following requirements when applying.

  • Application:
  • Transcripts:
    • Please submit official transcripts from the most recent college you attended and any other institution of higher education from which you expect to transfer credit. Send transcripts to:
      • Guilford College Continuing Education

    • If you are transferring fewer than 24 college credits, please also submit your official high school transcript or official GED scores.
      • Students who are college graduates taking courses for personal or professional interest need only furnish an official transcript from the institution that awarded their degree.
      • For all international transcripts, a World Education Services Inc. evaluation is required.
    • Guilford is able to review your unofficial transcript from any U.S. based school(s), which indicate successful completion of a high school diploma or GED and any college credits attempted. Upon acceptance to the program by review of your unofficial transcripts, you are required to submit your official transcripts if you had not done so already.
    • Transcripts can be obtained through the registrar of your previously attended college(s). You may also access transcripts through the National Student Clearinghouse, though not all colleges and universities use their services.
  • Dean of Students Form: This form is required from your current or most recently attended school. Please have your dean of students review, sign and mail an official copy to:

  • Personal essay: A personal essay may be requested after your transcripts have been reviewed.
    • If English is not your home language, you must demonstrate English proficiency. Please visit the International Students page for more information.
    • Additional items may be requested after a review of your application materials.
