From Despair to Hopeful Action: Building a More Just and Sustainable World as We Confront the “Polycrisis”

September 20, 2025

Free workshop open to the public. The same workshop will be offered 9/20/25 and 10/29/25. Registration required. Click link for more info.

We live in the age of the polycrisis: a tangle of interrelated social and environmental crises including climate change, war, authoritarianism, economic inequality, intersecting systems of oppression, forced migration, and public health emergencies. In this context, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, powerless, anxious, or depressed.

This interactive workshop introduces strategies for confronting the polycrisis with courage, compassion, and creativity. It integrates intellectual, emotional, and embodied learning, building on “The Work that Reconnects,” a framework developed over several decades by Joanna Macy and her colleagues (https://workthatreconnects.org).

Generously funded by the Center for Principled Problem Solving.
