As the fall semester gets under way, the Health and Safety Task Force would like to share some updates and reminders:
  • Based on CDC and other state and local guidance, we are not conducting regular COVID-19 testing clinics this year.
  • We will issue recommendations weekly with regard to masking recommendations. Those recommendations will be based on the latest transmission levels in Guilford County.
  • Community members should have a mask with them at all times and be prepared to wear one upon request.
  • Please follow this flowchart if you are exposed to or test positive for COVID-19.
  • Students should report positive test results to studenthealth@guilford.edu; employees should report positive test results to their supervisor and to covidscreening@guilford.edu.
  • Vaccine/booster clinics will be scheduled periodically for anyone who needs it.
  • We are also monitoring the spread of Monkeypox and will issue advisories as needed.

Finally, we want you to know that our discussions continue to be guided by an Activity Decision Matrix and we will be reviewing the Visitor Policy for updates as needed throughout the year. As we transition from a pandemic to an endemic, we want to thank our community for their cooperation throughout the last two and a half years. The care and concern we have shown toward each other has enabled the college to operate as close to "normal" as possible, and we are confident that we will emerge from this with a new appreciation for the health and safety of everyone.

Let's help each other and be safe.
