Jessie Wetherby is a graduate student in the International Education Program at George Washington University’s Graduate School of Education and Human Development as well a High School ELL (English Language Learner) teacher for newcomer students in Washington, DC where she teaches English and Biology.

A veteran educator of 15+ years, she is interested in the intersection of language and identity among refugees and immigrants as well as the study and development of newcomer curriculum for students with limited and interrupted formal education. She speaks fluent French and conversational Spanish.
