David Hopkins '91 is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Urban League of Greater Hartford in Connecticut, whose mission is to create economic empowerment for Black Americans through education, employment, housing, health, and social justice. Passionate about culture, systems, and resources aligning to achieve operating excellence, David was also the CEO of the largest Community Health Center in Pittsburgh, Penn.; operated an independent strategic management consultancy; and was a Senior Vice President at PNC Bank in Public Finance and Community Development Banking.
David earned a BA in Economics with a minor in Sociology from Guilford College; an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business in Information Management Systems, Strategies and Economics; and is currently a candidate for a Ph.D. in Community Engagement, Advocacy and Policy from Point Park University in Pittsburgh. He is the co-vice chair of the Guilford Board of Trustees, president of the Josh Gibson Foundation Board of Directors, and co-chair of the University of Hartford’s Community Advisory Council. David also serves on the Board of Metro Hartford Alliance, the Root Center for Advanced Recovery. He is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
