Guilford Plans Universities Studying Slavery Conference


Guilford College is hosting visitors from across the country for the 2022 Universities Studying Slavery Conference at the end of March. Campus folks are cordially invited to attend. This in-person conference, originally scheduled for fall 2020, requires participants and attendees to follow campus COVID-19 protocols.

The conference is from March 30 through April 2, 2022, in Greensboro and Winston-Salem and hosted by Guilford College and Wake Forest UniversityAdvanced registration is required for all events. 

Events on Wednesday and Thursday evenings will be in downtown Greensboro; Thursday is on Guilford's campus; and Friday is at Wake Forest University.

Organizers anticipate it will be primarily an in-person meeting. Highlights include a keynote talk by retired Guilford College History Professor Adrienne Israel in Dana Auditorium on Thursday afternoon, as well as presentations by Guilford faculty and staff each day of the conference.
