Policy for Disclosing Financial Information

(Colleges Single Independent Audit and IRS 990 Form)

Guilford College provides viewing access to its most recent audited financial statements, interested parties may call or write the Finance Office to schedule a time to view the most recent statements. The requestor can view the previous year’s information online through a resource like GuideStar (paid subscription) and ProPublica (free for basic information). The Chief Financial Officer and VP of Administration and Finance and or designee will provide said requested financial information to a parties request during our normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

The College follows the guidance from the IRS as required by law, and files the institutions audited financials and as a tax-exempt organization by the IRS has to file Form 990 every year. Since Guilford meets these and other criteria (more than $750,000 in grants from the Federal government annually), the College submits its audited financial statements to the Federal Audit Clearinghouse annually as required and submits the 990 form with the IRS on April 15 for the prior fiscal year.
