The movie is part of a weeklong visit to Greensboro by a Vermont theater group that will hold workshops with the College's Justice & Policy Studies and Theatre Studies departments.
Guilford College’s Every Campus A Refuge chapter will present a screening of Babylon, Journeys of Refugees, a film that uses theater and puppetry to explore the plight of refugees, inspire dialogue and celebrate the human spirit.
The film will be shown Wednesday, April 26, at the Joseph M. Bryan Jr. '60 Auditorium in the Frank Family Science Center at 6 pm. A Q&A will follow the film.
The movie is part of a weeklong visit to Greensboro by Sandglass Theater of Putney, Vt. The artists will hold workshops at two local public schools as well as with students from Guilford's Justice & Policy Studies and Theatre Studies departments.
Lincoln Financial Professor of English Diya Abdo is the founder of Every Campus A Refuge, which encourages colleges to provide temporary shelter to refugees. She learned of the film and Sandglass Theater last fall at Russell Sage College in Albany, N.Y., where she is the Women’s Institute’s 2022-23 Visiting Affiliate Scholar.
