Harp Masterclass with Courtney Hershey Bress

Courtney Hershey Bress, Principal Harpist of the Colorado Symphony, will present a masterclass on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 12:00–2:00 PM in the Carnegie Room, located in Hege Academic Commons at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina. Registration is required.

Ms. Bress will also perform Michael Daugherty’s Harp of Ages with the Greensboro Symphony (GSO) on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 7:30 PM at the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are available through the GSO box office.

- Meet Courtney Hershey Bress -
International soloist and principal harpist Courtney Hershey Bress joined the Colorado Symphony in 2001 after a distinguished freelance career that included performances with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and nationwide tours as Principal Harpist with the United States Army Field Band. A sought-after master teacher and speaker, Bress is Professor of Harp at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, Lecturer of Harp at the University of Wyoming, and has held faculty positions at Colorado State University and the Eastman School of Music. Bress holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music and the Chicago College of Performing Arts. Her teachers include Sarah Bullen, Kathleen Bride, and Gretchen Van Hoesen.
