A branch of the Office of Transformation and Inclusion, the Intercultural Engagement Center (IEC) is committed to building an equitable and inclusive campus community at Guilford College through transformative programming and training. The IEC supports the educational, spiritual, cultural, physical, financial, and emotional development of all students. It gives particular attention to students who are from underrepresented backgrounds.

Black History Month
Each year, the IEC organizes a Black History Month Committee. The committee selects a theme for Black History Month that enables the community to both celebrate and educate on African American heritage.
Multicultural Leadership Scholars Program
MLSP is a year-long program designed to develop students’ understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion and their impact in society as well as at Guilford. MLSP students receive a scholarship for the academic year.
Soy Un Líder
Soy un Líder is a nonprofit organization at Guilford that aims to inspire and prepare Latinx, undocumented, DACAmented, refugee, international, first-generation students, and any other underrepresented groups to reach higher education. It provides resources to parents and students through an annual daylong conference typically held in November.
The IEC is committed to providing support for all Guilford students, including immigrant and refugee students. This site is for students looking for resources or wanting to learn more about the support system we have in place for immigrant and refugee students at Guilford.
The Bayard Rustin Center is a space dedicated to affirming the lives, histories, and experiences of LGBTQIA students, faculty, and staff . In the spirit of the late civil rights leader Bayard Rustin, we are committed to cultivating transformative educational experiences, building the leadership within otherwise marginalized communities, and promoting conversations across the intersections of race, ethnicity, religion, class, sexuality, and gender identity.
