Timothy Kircher Elected to Board, Presents Paper


H. Curt ’56 and Patricia S. ’57 Hege Professor of History Tim Kircher has been elected to a three-year term on the Board of Directors for the Renaissance Society of America

Tim will be Chair of Associate Organizations and International Cooperation. The Society, founded in 1954, is comprised of more than 5,000 members and currently includes more than 100 associate organizations representing scholars from around the world. At the annual meeting of the Society this month, held online, Tim presented a paper on the work of the Italian humanist and pope Aeneas Sylvius Piccolomini (1405-1464), entitled “Aeneas Sylvius Piccolomini’s Somnium de fortuna [Dream about Fortune] and the turns of humanist vision.”
