Educated to Empower

Analyze gendered systems of power and oppression while working toward liberatory social change as a Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies major.

You’ll take courses that focus on gender, sexuality, class, race, ethnicity, religion, and disability — topics that profoundly affect all aspects of everyday life and, when scrutinized, open doorways to creative expression and social change. Many academic departments contribute to the program’s dynamic curriculum, which allows students to choose courses that most interest them while receiving solid training in gender theory and interdisciplinary inquiry.

Majors and minors have opportunities to develop close relationships with professors through discussion-based, student-centered classes.

Graduates have attended a variety of well-respected graduate programs across the United States. They have also established careers in communications, public relations, health care and education, to name just a few.
