A Playbook for Success

The Sport Administration minor provides students with the basic skills for administration of athletics, recreation and sport. In addition to obtaining theoretical knowledge in the classroom, students have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a practical experience of organizing and managing a sport event with such organizations as the Carolina Panthers or the New York Mets. Courses also focus on the proper and ethical administration of sport programs.

Sports Administration students are not required to major in Sport Studies, making it an excellent minor for Business, Economics or Accounting majors who want to apply their skills to a sport-related profession.

Guilford’s Sport Administration minors are prepared to pursue careers with minor-league and professional sport franchises, as well as with community-level recreation departments and organizations like the YMCA.
