Biography


Guilford College: Current Director of The Wiser Justice Program since 2023.  Taught in the program since 2016. I teach the preparatory course and Introduction to Business courses.

The Wiser Justice Program brings instructors from Guilford College and other higher-ed instructors to incarcerated women and men who provide courses in the fields of business, english, criminal justice, sociology, psychology and conflict resolution.

The five-semester program provides students with an opportunity to receive 30 college credits and to take a preparatory course for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification exam. These credits are transferable to most schools that offer associate’s and bachelor’s degrees.

LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council designed to reduce an existing or new building’s carbon footprint.
Forsyth Tech: Full time professor of Architecture for 12 years I teach commercial and Residential Design, Codes, Structures, Site Planning and Architectural CAD.
UNC-G: Adjunct instructor for Architectural 3-D CAD

Professional Experience: I practiced Healthcare Architecture for 20 years working on Hospitals, Medical Office Buildings and ICU and CCU units in Charlotte NC.

Education: Bachelors of Arts in Architecture and Bachelors of Architecture.

Reason for taking the position: I feel that education programs like ours are not only  extremely important to the students but also to the community. It's often the only avenue for them to make a change in their lives.
