Biography

I am passionate about working with people, college students in particular, who want to live a meaningful and purposeful life! Before earning my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, I also earned a Master of Education in Higher Education from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. During my career in higher education, I have worked with many students of diverse backgrounds and life experiences. Through those relationships, I saw the need for mental health services as a basic life need, growing more passionate about equity and inclusion within the mental health community and higher education.

Inspired by the stories of students and other individuals who have been a part of my life, I have developed a strong interest in helping trauma survivors. I recognize trauma requires sensitivity and an informed approach, unique to each individual, believing that healing can be a part of any journey. I believe the therapeutic relationship is essential to success in therapy, working to build a relationship where the client feels heard and understood. Creating a safe space where individuals can heal and grow is my desire for each client!
