Biography


Craig Eilbacher, is a Professor, Department Chair, and Program Coordinator of Sports Medicine Education in the Sport Studies Department. He teaches courses such as introduction to exercise science, emergency procedures, therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation, and physical exam and assessment.

Craig serves as the college’s NCAA Faculty Athletic Representative. He is also a certified and licensed athletic trainer. When needed, Craig assists the athletic training staff in providing medical coverage for Guilford College athletics.

Prior to Guilford College, Craig was a teacher, athletic trainer, and coach at Central Davidson High School in Lexington, NC.

Craig earned his educational doctorate degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Kinesiology, a M.S. in Education from the University of Akron, and BS in Physical Education from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Craig remains actively engaged in the athletic training profession by serving on the planning committee for the North Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association conferences and symposiums. His research focus is studying the availability of athletic trainers in NC high schools.
