Four master’s students at Guilford College – Dawson Edwards ’24, '25 MBA, Shiloh Gray ’25, Josue Fuentes ’25 and Izaac McGuire ’25 – will make up the College’s fourth class of Presidential Fellows, who will work in administrative offices while pursuing their graduate degrees.
The Fellows, selected through an application process in the spring, will work for up to 20 hours per week in an administrative office that aligns with their skills and interests. Also, they will support Presidential initiatives, contribute to campus leadership and represent the College in various capacities during and after their fellowships.
”We have an outstanding group of Presidential Fellows again this year,” said Kathryn Shields, Interim Associate Provost and coordinator of the Fellows program. “Dawson, Shiloh, Josue and Izaac bring diverse talents and experiences to their administrative work, and will provide strong leadership for projects and other activities in the coming year.”
Dawson completed a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Guilford in May 2024 and a master of business administration this month. He was a member of the men’s basketball team the past three seasons. Dawson, of Durham, N.C., will work in the Admission Office and pursue a second master’s degree in International Sport Management.
Shiloh completed a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice & Forensic Biology at Guilford in May 2025. In four years on the softball team, she was a pitcher and captain, and she completed an internship with the Lexington (N.C.) Police Department. Shiloh, of Lexington, will work in the Advancement Office and pursue a master’s degree in Criminal Justice.
Josue completed a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Guilford in May 2025. He was the president of Hispanos Unidos de Guilford for two years and an orientation leader in 2023. Josue, of Washington, D.C., will work with Finance and Student Accounts and pursue a master of Business Administration degree.
Izaac completed a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Guilford in May 2025. He was captain of the baseball team for four seasons and has worked as a coach and umpire in youth baseball leagues. Izaac, of Wilkesboro, N.C., will work with Student Leadership & Engagement and pursue a master of Business Administration degree.
The Presidential Fellows program was established in 2022, and 16 students have served as Fellows in the past three years. Benefits include tuition remission, housing, a monthly stipend and administrative experience to leverage in their careers following the fellowship.
