With operations in over 60 countries, Kontoor is a global lifestyle apparel company with a portfolio led by two of the world’s most iconic consumer brands, Wrangler® and Lee®. In this role, Mame has responsibility for all aspects of global corporate communications and public affairs. This includes oversight of internal and external communications, message development, media relations, owned and digital content creation as well as employee communications and engagement. She leads government affairs strategies to achieve positive outcomes, developing Kontoor’s position on key legislative and regulatory issues. This includes being a representative and advocate for Kontoor’s interest among government agencies and other select associations. She leads integration of Kontoor’s global ESG efforts, spearheading strategy, integration, reporting and engagement across the company. Additionally, Mame serves as President of the Kontoor Brands Foundation, leading Kontoor’s global philanthropic and charitable giving strategy.
Mame has more than two decades of experience in delivering high-impact communications and government affairs strategies. Prior to joining Kontoor Brands in 2021, Mame served as the Head of External Relations at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. Prior to that role, she was Head of Communications at IFC Asset Management Company (AMC). Mame was also Head of Communications at the Results for Development Institute (R4D), Director of Marketing and Communications at United to End Genocide. Mame also spent 10 years on Wall Street as Vice President in J.P. Morgan’s Investment Bank. She developed communications strategies for business heads and executives, particularly during the 2008 global financial crisis and the J.P. Morgan and Bear Stearns merger and acquisition. Mame also led the Investment Bank's global employee volunteerism and charitable giving program.
Mame received her bachelor’s degree in economics from McGill University and a master’s degree in economics and international development from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
