Marcus Thomas, a native of Spartanburg, S.C., is currently a Program Officer for Community Impact at the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro. He manages the foundation’s grant portfolio of activities in various fields of community impact, including housing, education, and workforce initiatives. Additionally, he oversees and leads the foundation’s Teen Grantmaking Council and the Building Stronger Neighborhoods program. He is a graduate of North Georgia University where he studied Business Administration, concentrating in Finance. He is currently enrolled as a graduate student at the UNCG in the Master of Public Affairs program. Marcus’s desire is to make Greensboro a better place for his wife, Vakaya, their daughter, Hannah Grace, and all residents and visitors.
