2026-27 Student Tuition and Fees

Dear Student,

We are very proud that you are enrolled at Guilford, where you are receiving an excellent, practical liberal arts education and co-curricular experience that will prepare you for life beyond the College. Our faculty and staff work to provide this experience, and you, through your hard work and financial contribution, invest in your future.

The Board of Trustees has approved tuition and fees rates for the 2026-27 academic year. We are committed to keeping Guilford as affordable as possible while aligning tuition and fees with our costs to provide services. The approved tuition and fees schedule achieves this balance and is well in line with increases seen at other colleges and universities.

Tuition, Fees, Room and Board Rates for 2026-27 (Fall 2026, Spring 2027, Summer 2027)

A full listing of the 2026-27 rates is on this page. Highlights and some increases affecting continuing students include:

  • Tuition will remain constant with the 4-1 tuition guarantee for rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
  • Increases of 1.5% to 3% in rates for residence halls and apartments.
  • Increases of 5% on dining rates, except for the 25 meals-per-semester plan for which there is no increase.
  • Increase of $65 in the College Services Fee (first increase since 2019).
  • Parking fee of $200 per year or $100 per semester.
  • New Technology Services fee of $300 for the year or $150 per semester.

Effective in fall 2026 and only for incoming students, Guilford is discontinuing its 4-1 tuition plan that guaranteed a locked-in rate for four years. Rising sophomores, juniors and seniors are still eligible for that program and are not subject to the 2.5% tuition-rate increase that will apply to new students next fall.

Student Payments and Financial Aid

For the 2026-27 academic year, tuition and fees bills will be delivered to students by July 3. Full payment of tuition and fees is due by August 6 if a student is not on a payment plan. To participate in a 5-month payment plan, a student must enroll by July 14 and make payments by the 15th of each month July through November.

Per Guilford’s current policy, in order to move in (if living on campus) or start classes (all students), a student must have paid any remaining account balance for the semester in full, after all financial aid resources are considered, or be enrolled in and making payments on an authorized payment plan.

As you know, Guilford is a private college that is highly dependent on student tuition and fees to operate. We try to make a Guilford education as accessible as possible through donor-funded scholarships and other institutional assistance, as well as the financial contribution of students and families, which may include arranging for other aid and work.

The Financial Aid Office provides students with access to a platform of more than 17,000 external scholarships called Scholarship Universe. Students use their Guilford College single sign-on credentials to access the database to apply for scholarships.

Very best wishes for a successful conclusion of the fall 2025 semester.

Sincerely,

Keith Millner ’82
Chief Operating Officer
