Marketing Earns Six National Advertising Awards


Guilford is recognized this year in six categories by the 35th annual Educational Advertising Awards, presented by Higher Education Marketing Report, the nation’s leading marketing publication for higher-education professionals.

Gold awards were earned for Guilford 360, the College’s external newsletter for prospective students and families, and for the College’s digital advertising suite. A series of admission postcards received a bronze award in the direct mail advertising category. And three merit awards were given for the Outcomes Booklet, the College’s out-of-home advertising series, and the Visitor’s Suite of materials.

“It’s an exciting time at Guilford, especially with the launch of the Guilford Edge, and these awards are a result and acknowledgement of the opportunities the College offers students,” says Director of Marketing Abby Horton Langston. “I'm proud to be part of a talented, hard-working team that continually develops creative, engaging promotional materials that tell the Guilford story."

The Office of Marketing continues to build on its success from 2019, in which Guilford was recognized with five awards in categories including newsletters, direct mail, video production, and outdoor advertising. The College was also recognized earlier in the year with four District III CASE Awards — gold awards for  the Guilford Edge Campaign and the Guilford Gazette; a silver award for the 2018-19 Guilford College Bryan Series; and a bronze award for the Guilford Outcomes Booklet.

The Educational Advertising Awards is the largest educational advertising awards competition in the country. This year, more than 2,350 entries were received from more than 1,000 colleges, universities, and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries.
