Timothy Kircher Presents Paper on Renaissance Humanism at University of Vienna

Timothy Kircher, H. Curt ’56 and Patricia S. ’57 Hege Professor of History, presented a paper on the Renaissance humanist, artist, and mathematician Leon Battista Alberti (1404-1472) on May 16 at a conference held at the University of Vienna. The conference, “Between Antiquity and Modernity: Leon Battista Alberti’s Intercenales,” brought together scholars and students to examine a collection of Alberti’s short-stories and dialogues. Tim’s paper, “Fatum et fortuna: Humanist Currents and Cross-currents,” studied one of these, a dream vision on the power of fate and fortune.
