Timothy Kircher Receives Visiting Fellowship at Hebrew University

Timothy Kircher, Professor of History, has received a Visiting Fellowship at the Center for Literary Studies at Hebrew University in Jerusalem this fall.

Tim will meet with faculty and students in his field of Renaissance studies and present two lectures. The first, “The End of Humanism – and the Humanities?” is based on his current book project about the philosophical and literary legacy of Italian Renaissance humanism. The second, “Boccaccio and the Appearance of Reality (Decameron 8.3 / 9.3),” discusses the way the novelle of Giovanni Boccaccio (1313-1375) developed new views of the relation between language and perception.
