The CMA is the gold standard of certification in management accounting. Achieving the CMA designation demonstrates professional expertise in financial planning, analysis, control, decision support, and professional ethics. Founded in 1919, IMA is the worldwide association of accountants and financial professionals in business. With more than 85,000 members, it is one of the largest associations focused exclusively on advancing the management accounting profession. To date, 55,000 CMAs have been awarded worldwide. Assistant Professor Ron O. Cardwell, who holds the CMA designation, describes the CMA as a valuable credential which will give our students a competitive advantage in the global market for
management accounting professionals.
