Guilford College Announces Craig Eilbacher as Interim Athletic Director

Guilford College announced this week that Craig Eilbacher, Associate Professor and former Department Chair of Sport Studies, will serve as the Interim Athletic Director for the College through the end of the spring semester. 

Craig joined the Guilford College faculty in 2001, and also currently serves as the Faculty Athletic Representative and Program Coordinator of Sports Medicine. He holds an Ed.D. in Kinesiology from UNC Greensboro, a Master of Science in Education from the University of Akron, and a baccalaureate degree in Physical Education from UNC Wilmington. He is also a licensed, certified athletic trainer.

As Interim AD he will provide leadership of the Athletic Department and have full authority as the Athletic Director with all its associated responsibilities, including oversight of 20 teams, the PE Center, and other athletic facilities; management of the budget and support for fundraising; supervising and mentoring of coaches and staff; and serving as a role model for student athletes. 

Craig will be a part of the national search for a full-time Athletic Director. He will also continue to advise students in the Sport Medicine program as well as teach a course in the Sport Studies Department.
