Timothy Kircher Presents Paper, Chairs Meeting

Professor of History Timothy Kircher presented a paper at the annual Renaissance Society of America conference in Berlin on March 28.

His paper, “Landino, Alberti, and the Invention of the Neo-Vernacular,” examined the way Renaissance humanists Cristoforo Landino and Leon Battista Alberti transformed Italian language in response to their philosophical interests and their knowledge of Latin.

At the conference, Tim also chaired the annual meeting of the American Boccaccio Association, which he currently serves as president.
