Rosie Magura, Lydia Yun Win at Japanese Speech Contest

Two Guilford students — junior Rosie Magura and Early College student Lydia Yun — won second-place prizes at the first Greensboro Japanese Speech Contest. Rosie competed at the intermediate level; Lydia at the beginner’s level.

The contest, sponsored by the UNCG and held at UNCG’s Ferguson Auditorium on Saturday, April 2, featured the Consul-General of Japan in Atlanta as a judge and 32 contestants, primarily from UNCG and Wake Forest.
