Morgan Vanguilder ’17 is all about keeping it real. And that’s why she really appreciates the community she has encountered at Guilford College.
“The environment at Guilford is so calm and accepting,” Morgan says. “Being a student here has really allowed me not to worry about what other people think. Every day, I am surrounded by open-minded, brilliant and creative people. It is beautiful to be able to move on from the superficial and focus on what really truly matters in life.”
The depth of learning Morgan experiences in the classroom is something she truly treasures.
“I love Guilford and I owe that mainly to the faculty,” Morgan says. “They are all so helpful, supportive, and caring. I think it’s really special that the faculty does not just teach here — they want to learn from us, too.”
Internship experiences, including a year working with American Friends Service Committee, have also proved rewarding for Morgan. With graduation just a year away, her long-term aspirations are coming into sharper focus.
“I hope to find a job involving my true passion — Spanish language and culture,” Morgan says. “Guilford faculty have given me so many resume-building opportunities and I am excited to see where they take me. Eventually, I think I will go to law school because I am really leaning towards becoming an immigration lawyer.”
