Bryan Brendley Helps Launch Cold Case Team

Department Chair and Associate Professor of Biology Bryan Brendley, in cooperation with Dr. Anne Wade and Bob Carter from Rockingham Community College (RCC), has partnered with Detective Antuan Hinson from the Greensboro Police Department (GPD) to launch a trial "cold case team."

This team, consisting of Guilford and RCC students, is working on local homicide cases that have gone "cold," which means there are no current leads. The team utilizes crime assessment tools and current forensic science to provide GPD with possible queries that can be used to re-open an investigation. The cold case team concept came out of the 2017 January-term Crime Assessment class, taught by Brendley and world-renowned forensic psychologist Richard Walter, co-founder of the Vidocq Society.
