Meet Our Counselors

Michael Anderson

Assistant Director of Admission, Continuing Education

I counsel prospective Continuing Education students age 23 and older. I enjoy helping adult students who have never attended college, transfer students, second-degree seeking and post-baccalaureate applicants find a degree program that fits their educational goals.

After retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 2002, I decided to go back to school. I looked at several colleges and universities in the local area. I was juggling life roles, so the evening programs at Guilford College worked best for me, and today the program is still focused on serving the adult student.

I am often asked, “What is the best way to learn about opportunities offered at Guilford College?” While we have a great website with information on many topics such as College history, degree programs and application instructions, I recommend you contact the Office of Admission, schedule an appointment with an admission counselor and take a campus tour. Campus visits are a great way to learn more about Guilford College.

We define a transfer student as one who has earned a high school diploma or equivalency and has not graduated college but has taken college-level courses for credit. I work with transfer students who are 23 and younger from across the United States. (Students age 23 or older, please visit the Continuing Education page.)
