Post-Con
Long-time-no-see, I know it's late but here's a post-con update. We had an attendance of over 400 people! There was some drama, there always is, but most of it got settled. Main Constaff wants to thank all of our volunteer gophers, room runners, event runners, etc, even if you just did it for the t-shirt. We could not have done it without you. Everyone at Yachting Club would like to thank all of our Guests and Vendors, and especially Tom Smith for his two fantastic performances. We enjoyed having everyone at the con and hope to see you again next year!
Almost forgot, we raised $1200 from the Geek Auction and Silent Auction, which was donated to NAMI in the name of Will Davis.
More Updates
The schedule's been changing as we get updates from people doing panels and running games. Please make sure you have the most updated version.
One of our vendors, Hero's Haven, will be running a draft of Conflux, the Magic: The Gathering Set that is released the weekend of the con. It is on Saturday from 12:30 to 5:30 and the cost will be 15.00 per person. There will be prizes. The number of people will be 8 per flight and we will have 4 flights available.

Schedule and T-shirt
Happy New Year! We have a rough schedule worked up, which is now availiable on the links page. There are also two new flyers, and the final t-shirt design! The shirt for this year is the Guilford Evil League of Evil, and will printed professionally for staff and guests. It was designed by Michael Simpkins.
Now that we have the schedule, the Events listing and Rooms page have also been updated and the Geek Auction form is availiable. Please e-mail completed forms to Alison.
Big Guest and o_O
Wow, school went by fast after thanksgiving break. We have a lot left to do, specifically get volunteers from Yachting Club to run rooms/events, and be gophers. *hint hint*. We were unable to start asking at the end of this semester as we didn't think the last meeting was when it was. So if you'd like to help out, send us a message! The con also has a facebook event, for those who are interested.
I am also extremely pleased to announce our big guest this year: Tom Smith
He's here! The silliest man in filk, with yet another barrage of godawful puns, wicked folk-rock, and more fun than should probably be legal. There are currently two concerts planned, Fri night before the Firedancing and the Crapathon, and Sat night before the Geek Auction and the Dance. Don't miss out!
Convention Dates and Guests
We have a definite date for the con: Feb 6-8 2009. We have no idea where the location is going to be yet, and we don't have much control over it, but will be doing our best to keep the con in a single building this year. There is already a decent guest and vendor list, which will almost double by the time we get to the con. Just a note, we love new guests and vendors, but are going to give priority to previous con guests and vendors as there will be limited space.
WTHC 09
First off, here's our new website. The Main Yachting site has also been updated. Anyway, the initial planning stages of the con are underway, most importantly trying to finalize a date and hopefully location. We'll be doing our best to keep the con in one building this year, but the location isn't really under our control. Once that is done we'll be able to start invites, etc.
In charge of the con this year is: Amber Reed, with seconds: Derek Gambill and Ben Shenkman, publicist: Kass James, and con purser: Lindsay Lavenhar.
