The SPROUT Emerging Leaders Experience is a nine-week cohort-based leadership program. Each semester, first-year students (and second-year students during the spring) have the opportunity to learn valuable leadership skills in a hands-on learning environment. Experienced facilitators work with the students to strengthen their knowledge and abilities by working on leadership skills such as risk-taking, communication, team building, diversity and values.
SPROUT starts in the third week of each semester. Students can be nominated by peers, faculty and staff, or they can sign-up for the program during the recruitment period. Individuals who participate in SPROUT go on to serve in important leadership roles on campus. Program graduates have been RAs, student body president, orientation leaders, Bonner Scholars, programming board executives and much more! This network of support and skill lasts beyond the Guilford experience and helps our students become leaders in stewards in their professional journeys.
