ODAC FINALS

#1 Washington and Lee 3, #2 Randolph-Macon 0 stats

Although Washington and Lee defeated Randolph-Macon in straight sets, the Yellow Jackets would not go quietly in their first ODAC final.  The opening set saw a furious back-and-forth game with both teams holding four-point leads and enjoying multiple-point runs.  The Generals went on the final run that resulted in a 30-28 victory.  Washington and Lee used its momentum to overpower Randolph-Macon in the second game 30-13, but the Yellow Jackets fought back in game three, a set that saw nine ties.  The Generals, however, were unwilling to give up the lead and pulled away at the end of the final game to win 30-25, en route to their fourth straight title.

The Generals were led by the three-headed tandem of Laura Byrne (17 kills, 11 digs), Emily Wolfing (16 kills, 9 digs), and Susan Gaillard (14 kills, 2 service aces, 2 blocks).   Christine Gladysz was outstanding setting up Washington and Lee recording a match-high 50 assists while also helping out defensively with 12 digs.
