SCHOTT BREAKS RECORD AS GUILFORD DOWNS EMORY & HENRY

Emory, VA (9/14/98) — Senior midfielder Alison Schott (Lyons, NY/Lyons) broke Guilford's career scoring record with two goals and an assist as the Quakers 6-0 won their third straight game at Emory & Henry Sunday afternoon, 6-0. Schott's assist to freshman Erica Brammer (Grosse Pointe Woods, MI/University-Liggett) for Guilford's first goal pulled her within one point of the record.  Her goal on a penalty kick at 24:46 broke the record of 66 career points previously held by Betsy Noell '93Schott's unassisted goal at 69:25 gives her a total of 69 career points (27g, 15a) in 57 career matches.  Freshman forward Amy Evans (New Bern, NC/New Bern) continued her outstanding play by scoring her fifth goal of the season in four games.  She is yet to be held scoreless by a Guilford opponent.   Junior forward Ingrid Werge (Fort Collins, CO/Eleanor Roosevelt (MD)) scored her first goal of the season while rookies Brammer, Angela Rioux (Lisbon Falls, ME/Mt. Ararat), and Sara Rosenblatt (Rockville, MD/St. Andrews Episcopal) all tallied their first career points.
