
GUILFORD FALLS TO ROANOKE IN ODAC QUARTERFINALS
Salem, VA (10/27/98) - Guilford dropped its 14th straight game to Roanoke and their third straight match to the Maroons in Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament as Roanoke scored two second-half goals in a 2-0 victory Tuesday afternoon. With the win, the fourth-seeded Maroons advance to Friday's ODAC semifinals where they meet the winner of the Washington and Lee-Emory & Henry match.
Two second-half goals by Allison Dlugos and Laura Pecorale broke a scoreless deadlock and gave Roanoke the quarterfinal win. The fifth-seeded Quakers were outshot 23-8 by the hosts.
Guilford concludes the 1998 season with a road match against cross-town rival Greensboro College this Friday at a time to be determined.
