
GUILFORD HANDS FERRUM ITS SECOND LOSS
Greensboro, NC (10/11/98) Freshman Amy Evans (New Bern, NC/New Bern) scored the Quakers' first goal on a penalty kick and broke Betsy Noell's school record for goals by a freshman with 14 as Guilford won their second straight game Sunday, 2-1 over Ferrum. Junior Ingrid Werge off an assist by sophomore Jessica Lee at 57:54 to give the Quakers a 2-0 lead. Freshman Karen Helton scored at 81:37 and pulled the Panthers to within one. Ferrum failed to score in the closing minutes and took just their second loss this year falling to 8-2-1 while Guilford improved its record to 7-6.
