DIVISION I HIGH POINT DOWNS QUAKERS

Greensboro, NC (10-6-98) — Freshman Rebecca Wassel scored just before halftime and host High Point held Guilford scoreless in the second half to record just their second victory, 3-1. Despite sophomore goalkeeper Jenny Akman's career-high 21 saves, the Quakers dropped their second straight game and fell under .500 for the first time this season at 5-6. Freshman Sara Rosenblatt scored her first career goal to give Guilford the early lead, but Panthers' junior Emily Eschedor soon tied it before Wassel's goal put the Panthers ahead for good. Guilford remains winless versus High Point with a 0-5-1 series record.
