WILLIAMS' GOAL GIVES GENERALS AN ODAC WIN OVER GUILFORD

Greensboro, NC (10/02/99)  — Junior Lindsay Williams (Atlanta, GA/Phillips Academy (MA)) scored with 3:52 left to help visiting Washington and Lee down Guilford, 3-2, and keep the Generals undefeated in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Saturday afternoon.

Junior Shana Levine (Hudson, OH/Hudson) got the Generals on the board first, scoring from Elizabeth Olson's (Brookfield, CT/Loomis-Chaffee) short pass on an indirect kick in the 17th minute.

Junior Kerrie Campbell (Greensboro, NC/Grimsley) used her speed to tally both of the Quakers' goals. In the 74th minute, she tied the score at 2-2 off an Amy Evans (New Bern, NC/New Bern) pass over the top of the defense. She also netted an early second-half goal off a long outlet pass from junior goalkeeper Jenny Akman (Washington, DC/Georgetown Day). Akman recorded 14 saves in the loss.

Washington and Lee outshot Guilford, 31-10, and spoiled the Quakers' hopes of winning their first game between the two schools.
