CAMPBELL SCORES OVERTIME GOAL IN QUAKERS FIRST WIN

Emory, VA (9/15/99) — Junior Kerrie Campbell (Greensboro, NC/Grimsley) broke a 1-1 tie in the second overtime Wednesday afternoon to give Guilford its first win of the season at Emory & Henry.

Sophomore Amy Evans (New Bern, NC/New Bern) got the Quakers on the board first with her third goal of the season in the 13th minute. At the 30-minute mark, the Wasps' Lindsey McKnight found the back of the net off of a Stephanie Armbrister corner kick to tie the score.

With sophomore Erica Brammer (Grosse Point Woods, MI/University-Liggett) on the bench with a concussion, the Quakers played the game's final 90 minutes with only 10 players. Campbell finally scored the winning goal off of Evans' assist seven minutes into the second over time.

Guilford was outshot 15 to 13 but thanks to 10 saves by sophomore goal keeper Jenny Akman (Washington, DC/Georgetown Day) the Quakers earned their first Old Dominion Athletic Conference victory.
