GUILFORD WOMEN THROTTLE CHATHAM, 103-33

Pittsburgh, PA (11/20/99) -- Guilford posted its largest margin of victory in school history with a 103-33 women's basketball win over Chatham College in the consolation game of the Carnegie Mellon Tip Off Tournament. The 70-point margin topped the former mark of 66 set in a 96-30 win over Sweet Briar in 1985.

Guilford junior forward Arden Miller (Landenberg, PA/Sanford School) notched her sixth career double-double with a game-high 23 points and 13 rebounds off the bench. She made 12 of 15 shots from the floor, including two three-point baskets. Sophomore forward Megan Barlow (Bethesda, MD/Chevy Chase) added a career-high 23 points, plus three blocks and three steals in the win. Sophomore guard Erin Beacham (Atlanta, GA/Lovett School) added 13 points and a game-high seven assists and junior guard Kerrie Campbell (Greensboro, NC/Grimsley) scored 11 points to round out Guilford's double-figure scorers.

The Quakers (1-1) broke open a five-point game early in the first half with a 14-0 run in just over three minutes. Chatham (0-2) scored only thee points in the final 9:10 of the opening half as the Quakers built a 50-13 halftime lead. Guilford closed out the game on a 16-0 run over the final 5:57.

Guilford returns to action November 30 at Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Hollins University in the Quakers' league opener.
