Women's Box Score    Men's Box Score

Greensboro, NC -- Junior Arden Miller (Landenberg, PA/Sanford School (DE) led four Guilford players in double-figure scoring with a game-high 21 points and nine rebounds as the Quakers scored an 83-65 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's basketball win over Hollins Tuesday night. The win came in the second game of an ODAC twinbill, which had Randolph-Macon scoring a 53-45 triumph over Guilford's men.

The Quakers' 19th win in as many meetings with Hollins snapped the club's two-game losing slide. Guilford (6-4, 3-3 ODAC) scored the first 12 points of the game and led by as many as 17 points in the first half, before settling for a 43-29 halftime edge. Hollins (2-6, 0-4 ODAC) never drew closer than 15 points in the second period as Guilford shot over 52 percent from the floor and forced 13 of Hollins' 21 turnovers.

Guilford sophomore Erin Beacham (Atlanta, GA/Lovett School) notched her first career double-double with 14 points and 11 assists. Her 11 helpers matched her career high and mark the second-best single-game total in Guilford history. Sophomore forward Megan Barlow (Chevy Chase, MD/Whitman) came off the bench with 18 points and seven boards for the Quakers, while sophomore guard Amy Evans (New Bern, NC/New Bern) contributed 10 points and eight rebounds. Junior guard Kerrie Campbell (Greensboro, NC/Grimsley) enjoyed a solid all-around night with eight points, nine rebounds, six assists and four steals. Freshman guards Lauren McKee (Vinton, VA/Roanoke Valley Christian) and Emily Ferrell (Roanoke, VA/Northside) paced Hollins with 15 and 13 points, respectively.

In the night's first game, visiting Randolph-Macon (6-6, 3-3 ODAC) won for the third time in four outings by holding Guilford (3-9, 2-5 ODAC) to its fewest points in a game since a 39-38 loss to High Point February 9, 1985 - a span of nearly 15 years. Rookie forward Jamie Rice (Hagerstown, MD/St. Maria Goretti) scored six of his 10 points during a decisive 10-0 Yellow Jackets' run midway through the second half, which erased a five-point Guilford lead and gave the guests a 41-36 edge with 10:01 left. The Quakers drew to within 43-41 on a layup by sophomore forward Brad Woolley (Chapel Hill, NC/East Chapel Hill), but the Yellow Jackets held Guilford to one field goal for the remainder of the game to seal the victory.

Freshman forward Marshall Rumney (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) led Randolph-Macon with a career-high 13 points off the bench. Sophomore forward Tom Ridder (Fredericksburg, VA/St. Alban's (DC)) added 10 points and five rebounds for the Yellow Jackets. Senior Brad Cress (Apex, NC/Apex) led the Quakers with eight points and a game-high eight boards, while junior Todd Ashworth (High Point, NC/SW Guilford) also added eight markers in defeat.

Guilford's men return to action Friday night (1/14) at league-rival Eastern Mennonite, while the Quakers' women visit Washington and Lee for a Saturday afternoon (1/15) ODAC tilt. Hollins hosts local rival Roanoke College Thursday night (1/13) at 7:00, while Randolph-Macon's men host Washington and Lee Saturday afternoon at 3:00 in Crenshaw Gymnasium.
