Assistant Coach

Chris Kosiba '97 returns for a second season as an assistant for his alma mater. He helped the team to a 19-7 record in his first season and aided a successful recruiting effort that yielded 11 first-year players.

Kosiba’s responsibilities include recruiting, guard development and helping with day-to-day operations. He picked up some non-basketball duties in his second season and serves as an enrollment representative with the Office of Enrollment and assists in the Institutional Advancement Office.

Kosiba returned to Guilford in 1999 after earning his master's degree in physical education with a concentration in sports psychology from Western Illinois University (WIU) the following May. He served two years as a graduate assistant with WIU’s women's basketball team and as an athletic academic advisor. He also gained coaching experience at the University of Notre Dame and John Thompson Basketball Camps.

A native of Tampa, FL, Kosiba lettered four seasons with Jack Jensen's men's basketball team at Guilford and earned the reputation as an exceptional defensive player. He received the Quakers' Defensive Player of the Year Award as a junior and senior and appeared in 82 career contests, starting 22. Kosiba played scholastically at Tampa Catholic where he scored over 1,000 career points and earned All-Hillsborough County honors with the basketball team.
