RANDOLPH-MACON BEATS GUILFORD IN ODAC WOMEN'S LACROSSE
Greensboro, NC (4/17/99) -- Junior attack Carrie Winkler (Towson, MD/Loch Raven) scored six goals and three assists to lead Randolph-Macon to an 18-6 victory over Guilford Saturday afternoon in the Quakers' final regular-season game. Winkler scored all six of her goals in the first half as the Yellow Jackets took a 13-2 halftime lead.
Randolph-Macon (10-4, 7-1 ODAC) is ranked 20th in this week's Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III poll.
Guilford was led by freshman attack Keli Donnelly (Lafayette Hill, PA/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) who scored three points with two goals and an assist. Senior defender Tina Schroeter (Reisterstown, MD/Garrison Forest) also scored two goals in the Quakers' defeat.
The Yellow Jackets held Guilford junior attack Jenn Jankowski (Bethlehem, CT/Westover School), the ODAC's reigning Player of the Week, without a point for the first time this season and the first time in 26 consecutove contests.
The Quakers finish the regular season at 8-8, 4-4 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC). Guilford plays in the ODAC quarterfinals on Wednesday, April 21st. The ODAC Tournament pairings will be announced Monday.
