GUILFORD WOMEN'S LACROSSE TEAM DOWNS PFEIFFER, 12-9
Misenheimer, NC (4/13/99) -- Guilford (8-6) got back on the winning track with a 12-9 road victory against Division II Pfeiffer (2-6) on Tuesday afternoon.
Led by junior attack Jenn Jankowski (Bethlehem, CT/Westover School), who scored four goals, the Quakers jumped out to commanding 10-5 halftime lead. Other contributors to the Quakers' victory included senior defender Tina Schroeter (Reisterstown, MD/Garisson Forest), who scored three goals, and freshman attack Keli Donnelly (Lafayette Hill, PA/Plymouth-Whitemarsh), who tied her career high with two points and an assist.
Pfeiffer held the Quakers to two points in the second half, but could not close the gap as Guilford's senior goaltender Lauren Gill (Beverly, MA/Waring School) picked up 11 saves and held on for the win. Guilford will come home tomorrow to play Division II Longwood College (8-3) starting at 4:00 pm.
