GENERALS SCORE 15-6 WOMEN'S LACROSSE WIN OVER GUILFORD
Greensboro, NC (4/10/99) -- Sophomore attack Liz Borges (Winchester, MA/Winchester) and junior attack Katherine Riddle (St. Clair Shores, MI/University Liggett) scored four goals apiece to lift Washington & Lee to a 15-6 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win over Guilford Sunday afternoon. The win ended a four-game losing streak for the Generals (4-6, 4-1 ODAC) and snapped Guilford's (7-6,4-3 ODAC) three-game winning streak.
Borges scored the first two goals of the game, triggering the Generals 6-0 opening run, which helped the visitors to a commanding 11-3 halftime lead.
The Quakers were led by junior attack Jenn Jankowski (Bethlehem, CT/Westover School) who picked up four points on two goals and two assists. Senior midfielder Luisella Perri (Towaco, NJ/Boonton) tied her career high, scoring three goals. Borges (4g, 2a) and senior defender Karin Treese (Frederick, MD/Thomas Johnson) (3g, 3a) led all scorers with six points apiece.
Guilford's next game will be played this Tuesday, April 13, at Division II Pfeiffer.
