
GUILFORD WOMENS LACROSSE TEAM HANDS VIRGINIA WESLEYAN 11-4 LOSS
Norfolk, VA (3/27/99) The Guilford College womens lacrosse team beat Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Virginia Wesleyan, 11-4, Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Quakers move to 4-4 (2-1 in the ODAC) while the Marlins fall to 0-6 on the year, 0-4 in the conference.
Senior defender Tina Schroeter (Reisterstown, MD/Garrison Forest) led the Quakers to victory, scoring five of their goals. The Quakers also received help from senior midfielder Carmen Eckman (Woodbury, CT/Westover School) and freshman attack Keli Donnelly (Lafayette Hill, PA/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) who each scored two goals. Donnelly, who scored her first collegiate goals, also picked up an assist.
Senior goaltender Lauren Gill (Beverly, MA/Waring School) had a strong performance, picking up a season-high 19 saves and allowing only four goals in the win.
The Quakers come home to play their next game this Tuesday, March 30
