GUILFORD BLANKS FERRUM FOR WOMEN'S LACROSSE WIN
Greensboro, NC (3/24/99) -- The Guilford women's lacrosse team earned its second straight win and the second shutout in school history with a 16-0 triumph over visiting Ferrum Monday afternoon. The win over the first-year Panthers (0-3) marked Guilford's (3-3) first shutout since a 25-0 blanking of Trinity (DC) on March 8, 1997.Junior attack Jenn Jankowski (Bethlehem, CT/Westover School) scored four goals for Guilford while sophomore defender Abbey Weiner (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) contributed a career-high two goals and two assists. Five Guilford players scored two or more goals including seniors Luisella Perri (Towaco, NJ/Boonton), Nel Andrews (Burlington, VT/Northfield-Mt. Hermon (MA)) and Tina Schroeter (Reisterstown, MD/Garrison Forest).
Senior goaltender Lauren Gill (Beverly, MA/Waring School) picked up four saves for her second career shutout.
The Quakers' next game is on Friday, March 26 at 1:00 pm against Ohio University at Davidson College in Davidson, NC.
